The management group, led by Chairman and CEO Ram Thukkaram, has over 20 years of diverse manufacturing experience, primarily focused on meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers in both automotive and non-automotive business segments. Management And Principal Members
AMT has assembled an experienced management team to foster a stable, long-term growth oriented culture focused on quality. One of the core strengths of AMT is the continuity of the management team; the majority of the management team have worked together for more than 20 years.
P. Thukkaram, Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Thukkaram has more than 30 years experience in manufacturing. He previously built an automotive supply company from 18 employees to 800 employees. His basic experience is die-casting and machining. He has work experience in manufacturing companies in India, Denmark, Germany, Canada and USA in varying capacities, all the way from design engineer to CEO. He has written handbooks on die casting, as well as numerous technical articles on tool design and casting design. He is a practitioner of continuous improvement and has developed an individual improvement proposal system, which is being practiced at AMT. He has an Engineering degree from the University of Madras and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin. In 1992, Mr. Thukkaram received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and was named by President Bush as one of the country’s eight outstanding Asian American Citizens.
Cary Van Sluys, Vice President Of Sales & Marketing. Mr. Van Sluys has over 16 years experience in the aluminum die casting, sand cast, permanent mold, machining, assembly, leak testing, and manufacturing industries. He has a wealth of experience in plant operations, materials, engineering, quality control, international commercial and program management activities, cost estimating, sales and marketing. He has negotiated new business contracts with the Automotive, On-Highway and Off Highway Diesel, Commercial, and Hydraulic industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technologies from Northern Michigan College.
Curt Pape, Vice President of Operations. Mr. Pape has 30 years of effective and professional manufacturing operations management, including both die casting and machining facilities. His operational management responsibilities have included: full profit and loss performance, business plan generation, capital budgeting and justification, variable expense management, operational performance, continuous improvement, safety and plant cleanliness.
Rick Day, Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Day has worked in finance management for more than 30 years, and has extensive experience in internal controls, procedures, financial reporting, budgeting, risk management, and management of information technology and benefit administration. He holds Bachelors of Business Administration degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire and is a Certified Public Accountant.
